Rev. David Um – Lead Pastor

David became a follower of Jesus at age 15 and grew in the Lord through God’s grace in Korea. Since arriving in Australia in 2008, he has led English worship services and evangelised many nonbelievers. Previously he studied in his native language (Korean), a B.A and a M.Div. in theology. He completed an M.Div and GraDipMin. through Morling College and is an ordained minister of religion within the NSW and ACT Baptist Association.

David has joined us at Chester Hill because of his enthusiasm for multicultural and Australian church ministry and ; he respects Australian heritage; he is passionate about meeting many people from diverse backgrounds and Australian and helping them discern God’s calling for their future.

In his spare time, David enjoys many sports including soccer, tennis, basketball and badminton.

David is married to Esther and they have three children, Joy, John and Joseph.
